The Gillard Labor Government today announced a second GP Super Clinic will be built in the electorate of Page, to help take pressure off the local hospital system and provide better healthcare for local families. Parliamentary Secretary for Health Mark Butler and Federal Member for Page Janelle Saffin today announced the second GP Super Clinic would be built in Lismore. Construction is due to begin next month on Ochre Health’s $5 million clinic in Grafton.

Page MP Janelle Saffin said Tony Abbott has today confirmed that a Coalition Government would cut vital services at health and hospital facilities across the country. In response to the Coalition’s plans, Federal Labor has today released the full list of health and hospital facilities that are receiving funding that the Coalition does not support.

Families still facing cost of living pressures, despite interest rate decision |

Federal Labor Member for Page, Janelle Saffin said this week’s decision by the Reserve Bank of Australia to leave interest rates unchanged at 4.5 per cent would be welcomed by local families.
But Ms Saffin said those families were still struggling to balance their budgets with cost of living pressures.

Member for Page Janelle Saffin today welcomed the Gillard Labor Government’s move to give principals and parents a greater say in how schools are run.
Under the Empowering Local Schools reform, schools will have greater control over their budgets and staffing and setting their school priorities.
Thousand schools are expected to participate in the first phase of the reform starting from 2012, including around 320 schools in NSW.
