The purpose of the local forums was to give pensioners, people receiving family payments and independent retirees the opportunity to have direct
input into the Harmer Pension Review, which is part of Henry Commission Review of the tax system.

All the local concerns and suggestions from the forums were included in Janelle’s submission to the outcomes from the local summits Harmer Review.

In August Janelle invited the Parliamentary Secretary Disabilities Bill Shorten to a local forum on disabilities.

More than 70 people, including people with disabilities, parents, carers, service providers and advocates, took the opportunity raise a broad range of issues at the function.

In April more than 200 people from across Page took an active role in the Local 2020 Summits Janelle held in Lismore and Grafton.

The participants considered key challenges facing Australia and the outcomes from the local summit were collated into the Page submission to the National 2020 summit in Canberra.
